          Responsibilities

          Would you like to work alongside a registered nurse and set the tone for a patient's positive experience in a world-renown hospital? Do you enjoy being around people and hope to create a favorable impression? Do you have an energetic personality and the initiative to manage multiple situations at once? If so, you may be ideally suited for this opportunity.

          New England's premier teaching hospital and medical center Massachusetts General is searching for a patient care associate (PCA) to assist with patient care. You will work under the direction of a registered nurse to assist the multi-disciplinary health care team in a variety of clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment. Duties include responding to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patients and communicating in a respectful manner. This position requires the ability to handle a variety of patient care tasks such as monitoring vital signs, EKG, ADL's and executing blood draws.

          Qualifications

          ¿ Current CNA certificate for Massachusetts and previous experience, preferably in an acute setting.
          ¿ Effective customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers.
          ¿ Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communications skills and attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
          ¿ Ability to lift and transport patients using the appropriate physical technique in a safe manner for the patient and self.

          Only candidates who meet all of these requirements will be considered. Must be able to work day/evening/night rotation.
