          The Research Associate will provide research management within the Institute for Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies. The research team is focused on addressing disparities in health outcomes for women and for racial and ethnic minority groups. The research team also conducts research on the predictors of academic success and career satisfaction for women and underrepresented minority faculty in the health sciences. The incumbent will oversee the group of research projects conducted by the research team, actively participate in the research activities on the projects and provide support and supervision to 2 – 4 research assistants or students working in the group.

          This incumbent will work on multiple projects with the Principal Investigator, performing functions both independently and with others. The Research Associate will have responsibility for: 1) tracking and reporting of research project payments and receivables to ensure alignment with budgets, preparing and tracking invoices and vendor contract management; 2) collaboration with affiliated scientists working on subcontracts, 2) conducting some data analysis in SAS and excel, 3) production and management of research project-related documents and materials; 4) compliance with project reporting and documentation to internal and external organizations; 5) coordinating and planning events (e.g., meetings and conferences) and travel arrangements involving key project personnel.

          REQUIREMENTS:

          Masters Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Management and Administration, or Health Services Research or a minimum of 4-5 years of experience in research or healthcare environment.

          Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including word processing (Microsoft Word or Word Perfect), spreadsheets (Excel), database managers (MS Access or FileMaker Pro), reference software, (Reference Manager), and project management software (Project Manager, Visio, or MS Sharepoint). Demonstrated proficiency in basic biostatistical analytic tools, such as SAS.

          Demonstrated proficiency in Powerpoint and preparation of state-of-the-art materials including figures, tables and graphs and communication tools for different audiences.

          Demonstrated proficiency in managing budgets and financial information, preparing invoices to comply with requirements, and generating routine user-friendly reports to PIs and other personnel.
