          Duties & Responsibilities The Senior Campus Planner at Harvard Planning and Project Management (HPPM) will be part of a team of planners who are guiding the physical development of Harvard University in Cambridge, Boston.

          Reports of the Director of Planning Services, the Senior Campus Planner provides services in support of the University’s physical growth and development needs. Oversees planning projects, including managing studies and projects associated with University-wide physical planning and public approvals to support University, faculty, and project-specific needs in land use, space planning/programming, housing, historic preservation, transportation, open space, sustainability/environmental, and development controls. Works with public officials and outside consultants as well as internal and external committee on complex and sensitive planning issues and projects. Provides high quality research and analysis, interprets data, synthesizes conclusions into recommendations, and produces clean and concise verbal and written reports and presentations.
          Basic Qualifications Degree in urban planning or related discipline required, and 7-10 years of relevant work experience. In-depth knowledge of urban and campus planning and space planning required.
          Additional Qualifications Strong project management, organizational, analytical, written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization and to meet deadlines while working concurrently on multiple projects and stakeholders. Experience working well in teams and independently. Adept at handling issues that require sensitivity and sound judgment. Knowledge of Boston, Cambridge and Harvard community helpful. Excellent MSOffice skills, including very strong Excel skills. Skills with databases, GIS and graphics a plus.
